  1. Terms of use

    This page (together with the documents referred to on it) sets out the terms ("Terms") on which we agree to let you use our website www.sportforgood.org ("our site"). Please read these Terms carefully. By using our site, you agree that you accept these Terms. If you do not agree to abide by the Terms, you must not use our site.

    When using our site, you will be subject to any additional posted guidelines or rules including (but not limited to), any forum rules and guidance, announcements, stickies or any further guidance posted on our site from time to time by a moderator relating to a specific activity or feature (together the "Guidelines"). All such Guidelines are incorporated by reference into these Terms.

    1. www.sportforgood.org is operated by Laureus World Sports Awards Limited on behalf of the Laureus Sport for Good Foundation ("we" "us" "our"). We are registered in England and Wales under company number 3822952. Our registered office is at 15 Hill Street, London, W1J 5QT. Our VAT number is GB 751 8171 30.

  3. About our site

    1. We agree that you can use our site subject to the Terms, which includes, for the avoidance of doubt, the privacy policy set out on this page and our Acceptable Use Policy.

    2. We reserve the right at any time and without notice to withdraw, amend or suspend any part or the whole of our site and any content therein and to restrict access to some or all of our site to any user, whether registered with us or not, at our discretion.

    3. We will try to ensure that our site is available 24 hours a day, however, we will not be liable if our site is unavailable for any reason.

    4. The views, comments and opinions expressed by authors on our site do not represent our views, and we accept no liability in respect of any such views comments or opinions.

    5. You agree that we can disclose to any third party who claims that your material infringes any of the third party's intellectual property rights, whatever information about you and your identity as is necessary to allow that third party to contact or trace you.

    6. You agree that you will only upload materials or take part in any forums or discussions boards or chat rooms on our site according to the rules set out in our Acceptable Use Policy.

    7. We have the right to remove any material, posting or comment that you upload to our site if, in our sole opinion, that material, posting or comment does not comply with these Terms or our Acceptable Use Policy.

  4. Virus, hacking and other offences

    1. You must not misuse our site by knowingly or carelessly introducing viruses, Trojans, worms, logic bombs or other malicious or harmful material.

    2. You must not try to gain unauthorised access to our sites, servers, computers or databases and you must not attack our site via a denial-or-service attack or a distributed denial-of -service attack.

    3. We will report any breach of paragraphs 4.A and 4.B above to relevant law enforcement authorities and will co-operate with those authorities including by disclosing identity information about anyone suspected of breaching paragraphs 4.A and 4.B.

  5. Security

    1. We may require you to register with us in order to access some or all parts of our site. As part of this registration, we may issue you with a user identification code, password or other information, as part of our security procedures. You agree that you will treat this information as confidential and you will not disclose it to anyone else. We reserve the right to withdraw any user identification code, password or other security information if we suspect that you have not complied with this paragraph 5.

    2. By registering with us and/or participating in any our site forums, you expressly acknowledge that you have had access to, read and agree to be bound by and warrant your full compliance with our site Terms and Conditions and Acceptable Use Policy.

  6. Links to and from our site

    1. You may link to our home page as long as you do this fairly and legally and you do not jeopardise or damage our reputation.

    2. Any link to our site that you create must not imply that you are in any way associated with, approved or endorsed by us, and must never present any false information about us.

    3. You must not create any link to our site from a site that you do not have the necessary authority or permission to link from, and the site you are linking from must not contain any content that is distasteful, offensive or controversial, infringes any intellectual property rights or other rights of any party or which does not comply with all applicable laws and regulations.

    4. You shall fully indemnify us and keep us indemnified for any loss or damage that we suffer as a result of any link to our site that you put in place.

    5. Some resources and links to other sites which appear on our site have been provided by third parties, and these resources and links are provided for information only. We have no control over the contents of these resources or links and we accept no liability for loss or damage that may arise from your use of them.

  7. Our liability

    1. The material displayed on our site is provided on an "as is" basis, without any guarantees, conditions or warranties as to its accuracy despite our best efforts. To the extent permitted by law, we, other members of our group of companies and third parties connected to us hereby expressly exclude:

      1. All conditions, warranties and other terms which might otherwise be implied by statute, common law or the law of equity.

      2. Any liability for any direct, indirect or consequential loss or damage incurred by any user in connection with our site or in connection with the use, inability to use, or results of the use of our site, any websites linked to it and any materials posted on it, including, without limitation any liability for:

        1. loss of income or revenue;

        2. loss of business;

        3. loss of profits or contracts;

        4. loss of anticipated savings;

        5. loss of data;

        6. loss of goodwill;

        7. wasted management or office time; and

        8. any other loss or damage of any kind, however arising and whether caused by tort (including negligence), breach of contract or otherwise, even if foreseeable.

    2. This does not affect our liability for death or personal injury arising from our negligence, nor our liability for fraudulent misrepresentation or misrepresentation as to a fundamental matter, nor any other liability which cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law.

  8. Intellectual property rights

    1. Except as specified in our Acceptable Use Policy, we are the owner or the licensee of all intellectual property rights in our site, and in the material published on it, including but not limited to photographs and graphical images. Those works are protected by copyright laws and treaties around the world. All such rights are reserved.

    2. Subject to paragraph 8.C and paragraph 8.D, certain parts of our site may be printed or downloaded for certain purposes, namely:

      1. for private study or reference;

      2. for non-published research;

      3. to help third parties engaged by us in fulfilling our requirements.

    3. You may download one computer copy or print one copy of the material on our site for your own non-commercial, educational, private or domestic use only, provided that proprietary notices such as copyright©, trademark™ are neither modified, nor deleted nor changed. You may keep only one temporary copy in a single computer's memory or any part of our site. You must not modify the paper or digital copies of any materials you have printed off or downloaded in any way, and you must not use any illustrations, photographs, video or audio sequences or any graphics separately from any accompanying text.

    4. You must attach a copy of these Terms to any material you take from our site. Our status (and that of any identified contributors) as the authors of material on our site must always be acknowledged in conjunction with the material taken from our site and not on a separate page or location.

    5. You must not use any part of the materials on our site for commercial purposes without obtaining a licence to do so from us or our licensors.

    6. If you print off, copy or download any part of our site in breach of these Terms, your right to use our site will cease immediately and you must return, at our option, or destroy any copies of the materials you have made.

You agree and warrant that any material that you upload to our site (including comments, documents, photographs, images, permitted links), is not confidential, is not proprietary (or that you are the proprietor with all relevant rights) and, such that any consent or licence is needed, you grant us an irrevocable, perpetual royalty free worldwide, non-exclusive licence to use, copy, distribute and disclose any such material for any purpose whatsoever. You also agree to fully indemnify us and keep us indemnified for any loss or damage that we suffer as a result of any material that you upload to this site.

  9. Information about you and your visits to our site

    1. We process information about you in accordance with our privacy policy, which is located from paragraph 10 onwards of the Terms. By using our site, you agree that we can process your data in the ways set out in our privacy policy.

  10. Privacy policy

    1. We are committed to protecting and respecting your privacy.

    2. This policy sets out the basis on which any personal date we collect from you, or that you provide to us, will be processed by us. Please read the following carefully to understand our views and practices regarding your personal data and how we will treat it.

    3. For the purpose of the Data Protection Act 1998 (the Act), the data controller is Laureus World Sport Awards Limited of 460 Fulham Road, London, SW6 1BZ, United Kingdom.

  11. Information we may collect from you

    1. We may collect and process the following data about you:

      1. information that you provide by filling in forms on our site. This includes information provided at the time of registering to use our site, subscribing to our service, posting material or requesting further services. We may also ask you for information when you report a problem with our site;

      2. if you contact us, we may keep a record of that correspondence;

      3. we may also ask you to complete surveys that we use for research purposes, although you do not have to respond to them;

      4. details of your visits to our site including, but not limited to, traffic data, location data, weblogs and other communication data, whether this is required for our own billing purposes or otherwise and the resources that you access;

      5. information submitted by you in connection with RSS feeds or other communication methods used to send information about us to you.

    2. We do not collect your financial information through our site. We accept donations through PayPal. Please see http://www.paypal.co.uk/uk for further information.

  12. IP addresses and cookies

    1. We may collect information about your computer, including where available your IP address, operating system and browser type, for system administration and to report aggregate information to our advertisers. This is statistical data about our users' browsing actions and patterns, and does not identify any individual.

    2. For the same reason, we may obtain information about your general internet usage by using a cookie file which is stored on the hard drive of your computer. Cookies contain information that is transferred to your computer's hard drive. They help us to improve our site and to deliver a better and more personalised service. They enable us:

      1. to estimate our audience size and usage pattern;

      2. to store information about your preferences, and so allow us to customise our site according to your individual interests;

      3. to speed up your searches;

      4. to recognise you when you return to our site.

    3. You may refuse to accept cookies by activating the setting on your browser which allows you to refuse the setting of cookies. However, if you select this setting you may be unable to access certain parts of our site. Unless you have adjusted your browser setting so that it will refuse cookies, our system will issue cookies when you log onto our site.

  13. Where we store your personal data

    1. The data we collect from you may be transferred to, and stored at, a destination outside the European Economic Area ("EEA").     1. We may disclose your personal information to any member of our group, which means our subsidiaries, affiliated companies, ultimate holding company and its subsidiaries.

  16. Your rights

    1. You have the right to ask us not to process your personal data for marketing purposes. We will usually inform you (before collecting your data) if we intend to use your data for such purposes or if we intend to disclose your information to any third party for such purposes. You can also exercise the right at any time by unsubscribing on our site.

    2. Our site may, from time to time, contain links to and from the websites of our partner networks, advertisers and affiliates. If you follow a link to any of these websites, please note that these websites have their own privacy policies and that we do not accept any responsibility or liability for these policies. Please check these policies before you submit any personal data to these websites.

    3. The Act gives you the right to access information held about you. Your right of access can be exercised in accordance with the Act. Any access request may be subject to a fee of £10 to meet our costs in providing you with details of the information we hold about you.

    4. Any changes we may make to our privacy policy in the future will be posted on this page.

  17. Variations

    1. We may amend these Terms and our privacy policy or our Acceptable Use Policy at any time. You must regularly check our site for changes, because these changes are binding on you. Some of the provisions contained in these may also be superseded by provisions or notices published elsewhere on our site.

  18. Jurisdiction and governing law

    1. The English courts will have exclusive jurisdiction over any claim arising from, or related to, a visit to our site, our Terms or this Acceptable Use Policy although we retain the right to bring proceedings against you for breach of these conditions in your country of residence or any other relevant country, and English law will be the governing law.
